Haworth & Lexon has been retained to provide legal consulting services for the establishment of Huishan Life Science & Technology Park, Wuxi National High & New-tech Industrial Development Zone.

Wuxi is located at the center of the Yangtze River Delta Economical Ring. As new economic growth, Wuxi Government has planned to make urban economy development strategies to structure the "Greater Wuxi". The China Worldbest Group Co., Ltd has formed a business framework with life science, medical care technology, biological technology and modern Chinese traditional medicine as core industry in the 21-century. The China Worldbest Group in collaboration with Wuxi City Government & Huishan District Government, are jointly developing the Huishan Development Zone. With a land area of 11 sq. km, it is estimated that the total investment will be around RMB 20 billions. The construction will be completed in 8 to 10 years. It is the first high Science & Technology Park which is supported by government, operating in the form of enterprise and market.

Haworth & Lexon was allowed to engage in foreign investment consulting agent by Shanghai Foreign Investment Commission

On Aug.15th, 2001, Shanghai Foreign Investment Commission promulgated the notification that Haworth & Lexon, as well as the other three law firms, were allowed to engage in foreign investment consulting agent.

Our partners, Sean Yuan and Chambers Yang, were appointed to be Panel Conciliators in the Conciliation Center of CCPIT/CCOIC Pudong Sub-council.

On January 10th, 2002, the conciliation center of CCPIT/CCOIC Pudong Sub -council held an appointment meeting in the News Center of Pudong New area People's Government. Professor Chenyiedong, Law School of Fudan University as well as the other 49 legal experts were engaged to be conciliators, and our partner, Sean Yuan and Chambers Yang, were among the members. The conciliation center is a conciliation standing body, which provide independent and fair legal services for sino-foreign parts, helping them to settle disputes on business, maritime, etc.
